Collected a couple of kilos of fruit off the ground yesterday (enough to fill a large bucket) and DH has to fix up a couple of the trees which are now leaning over quite a lot.
We had no rain yesterday during the day however very windy last night and some more heavy rain over night as well. Our solar box got wet and is full of water so the solar has been off since Monday. I noticed that we had rain come in under the patio a couple of times during winter and now it has done so twice more. Think I will have a look for a couple of those clear weather blinds/shields today and bring them home so we can put them up for more protection in winter (yes I know it is summer now but it is raining)
Have to do something as we were told by the solar people that the box needed to be under cover.
I lost the cherries from one of my cherry trees in the hail on Monday and the other tree had some damage done to the fruit that was still on that yesterday. Although the fruit wasn't quite ripe I took the half a dozen cherries off it anyway.
The farmers around here have had mixed experiences with the hail storm that went through Monday. Seems it depended on what side of town you lived in with some farmers losing their crops while others either had no hail (and said your joking when they were asked about their hail damage cause they didn't know it had hailed) and a few others are waiting for inspectors to tell them what their down grade is or how much is lost etc. So some unhappy chappies around this side of the country.
Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
