We currently dehydrate a lot of apples in one of those round electric things with multiple trays. Works well but the volume we want to dry and the amount our children eat means it needs to run 24/7. Outside it is often 30-40C with low humidity; seems crazy not to dry things outside.
I have been searching high and low for a simple solar dehydrator design for South Australian conditions. I'm picturing raised racks with some sort of food-safe grating material, and insect netting. Many designs on the net are complex and are for low sun/ heat conditions.
Does anyone have a simple home made design they are proud of and want to share?
Thanks
