I was given a copy of this book by my daughter for Christmas as she knows I have somewhat eclectic tastes when it comes to reading and the types of books which take my fancy.
As I am living an alternative lifestyle with an ever changing ideal of what or how we live, and as we are intending on eventually buying milking cows, she thought this would be right up my alley so to speak.

Well, I was not particularly motivated to read this book initially giving it only a cursory flick through cover to cover because on the whole there has been a fair bit of controversial assertions made about the various grades of milk in our dairy industry and in particular and assertion was being made not that long ago that A2 milk was superior to A1 milk; or was it vice versa?

As my family will attest, I am often considered a conspiracy theorist ( no doubt resulting from my leaning towards debating the issue with them of what ifs' ? )and I had read some papers written by Woodford which claimed that vested interests had stifled the truth about the link between the consumption of A1 milk and heart disease, diabetes, and a host of other diseases.
I eventually got around to doing more than just flicking through this book and actually read it recently. By the way, Keith Woodford is a professor of Farm Management and Agribusiness at Lincoln University. His conclusions in the book are supported by the examination of more than 100 scientific papers and applauded by his peers. This is a very important book for anyone involved in the dairy industry in any way and will almost certainly change our thinking about the type of milk we are drinking.
If you can obtain a copy of it at your library please do as it is worth the read. I wouldn’t necessarily buy it myself at $34.99 given the type of book it is but yes it was worth the read.
