Re: My First Batch of Cheese!

Evening All Well, what a week it's been in this new cheesemaking game. The inaugural batch was the camembert and it furred up nicely by day 8, and it's now been wrapped in the special paper and placed in the fridge - dated and named. I've even put a bring-up in my outlook calendar so I know when the...

Re: My First Batch of Cheese!

Thanks for the tips. I've just put the saline water in a shallow dish in the bottom of the cheese fridge. Also - have tonight made a soft goat cheese - perhaps something along the lines of a crottin - we'll see. It's to sit ever so patiently now until tomorrow morning then here's hoping it's set! :)

Re: A New Brisbane Member

Hello Hayley, Heidi and ddgoatlover Thanks for the welcome and warm wishes. Sorry for tardy response. This has been a big week which has seen me spend many good Australian dollars getting set up for this cheesemaking business (fun). And what fun I've had sourcing bits and pieces, and reading so many...

Re: A New Brisbane Member

Hi Vicki Thanks for the welcome note. Seems I now have a mission to find Glyn's recipe and give it a burl. I am still looking at where to buy the equipment and so on - I've found the Cheeselinks website that has the kits, as well as GreenLivingAustralia. Last night after seeing a note on here about ...
